Apple Picking

 

We had a lot of fun this weekend.  On Saturday there was a neighborhood block party complete with a bounce house and a visit from the ice cream truck.  Emily was in heaven and had lots of fun running with her friends.  On Sunday we headed out to the orchard to pick apples.  This week is apple week at school so it was good timing.  When Emily heard about apple week at school, she was very concerned that she hadn't picked apples yet.  It was a good thing we had this planned!

First Day of School

Today was Emily's first day of school.  She was super excited to go back to school and see all of her friends!  She was chatting her friend Alana's mom's ear off in the hallway as we waited to go into class.  Daddy and I picked her up and took her to lunch.  She told us she had a really good day!

 

End of Summer

 

Well, summer is wrapping up which is always a little sad.  Labor Day weekend at the Lake was half rained out by the remnants of Hurricane Isaac but we still had lots of fun.  We took the scenic route to the Lake and ate at a great restaurant in New Haven, MO and saw some nice scenery along the river.  Emily is into caves and minerals thanks to Dinosaur Train so we went on a cave tour on Saturday which she loved.  Luckily the weather cleared up on Sunday so we were able to get out on the water some too.  School starts this week and Emily can't wait!
