Fun Around Town

We've been having lots of fun lately especially with this warm, early Spring weather! I wasn't expecting to need shorts in March so we've had to do a little shopping for Emily so she would have some shorts that would actually fit her.

We have had a lot of fun activities this past week. We went to see Disney on Ice, Dare to Dream (princess theme). Emily had a great time and it was the first thing she talked about when she woke up the next day. We also went to a puppet show at Faust Park (and rode the carousel), had a fire and play night with friends, went to the Spring party at the Magic House, and tonight we start swim lessons again. Whew! I know all of this wears Mommy out!

Waiting for Disney on Ice to start.
Posing with Daddy before Disney on Ice. Notice Daddy has gotten himself a refreshment to help him get through the show. Never fear, Emily got her popcorn which she asked for as soon as we walked in the building and she smelled it so she was a happy camper.
Riding the carousel after the puppet show
Taking care of a dog (Patches) at The Magic House's new veterinary clinic.
She made sure Patches got a scarf and complete check-up
Donut time, yum!

St. Patrick's Day

We had a really fun St. Pat's Day! We went to the parade in Cottleville. Daddy ran in the morning 7k race so he could get us a prime spot on the parade route. We went with a bunch of our neighbors and Emily's friends. The weather was sunny and hot for a while but then the rain came and we got soaked on the way to the car. We still had lots of fun before then but it was a shame since the parade was only about half over when the weather ended it.

Emily, Heartbeat and Hoppy having a dance party with the iPad.
Pre-Parade festivities. We were actually hot which is pretty unusual for March 17 in St. Louis!
Yay! Here comes the parade!
Emily was too busy watching the parade (and looking for candy throwing) to be bothered with looking at the camera.

Almost Spring?

Boy the weather has been nice around here this winter! Emily hasn't had a chance to try out her sled or snow boots which is a little sad but we will get over it. We have already made multiple trips to the playground which is pretty good considering it is only March 7!

Swimming lessons have wrapped up for now (we start back at the end of the month) but we still have lots of fun stuff going on. We've gone to a couple of puppet shows at the Faust Park Carousel which are lots of fun. Emily is still having a great time at school and I get to be special helper in her classroom tomorrow (Yay!). Yesterday was Dr. Seuss day celebrating his birthday and she made a cut "Cat in the Hat" hat. Along with the Dr. Seuss theme, I think we are going to see "The Lorax" this weekend. Emily loves going to the movies, mostly for the popcorn I think!

Here are some pics of her latest antics...

Headed out to Target and she decided she needed my sunglasses to complete her outfit.
Getting ready for swim lessons.
Jumping in the pool with her teacher. She wasn't too keen about going under when she first started lessons but was warming up to it by the end of the session. Hopefully another session will get her even more comfortable so she will be a super swimmer during lake season.
Swimming using a noodle all by herself. At the beginning of the session, the teachers would pull them around the pool and by the end Emily was kicking her way around by herself. We will have lots of good swimming skills to work on in the pool this summer.
Sassy pirate.
In full princess gear (including freshly painted toes).
