Vacation

We spent the week after the 4th at the Lake on vacation. It was great fun and we all enjoyed our break from the real world. Emily was especially happy having Daddy around all the time. She is a big "daddy phase" and doesn't like it when he is at work or away.

Emily went tubing for the first time with Madison and Jack (and of course Mommy). She LOVED it! She would laugh and tell Daddy to keep going or go faster. She was very disappointed when we had to stop or take take a break.
Having a picnic lunch on the deck.

Emily went to the Nascrab races at Docknockers. Each kid picks a hermit crab and then the crabs race to the edge of a table. Emily's crab came in 3rd place and she won this cool headband that lights up.

Taking an outdoor nap on the deck with Daddy and the guys.

4th of July

Sorry it has been so long between posts but my new computer decided to die on me. After a couple of weeks, it is back from warranty repair and fully operational. So, these pictures go back a little way, to Fourth of July weekend. Emily loved watching the fireworks and had a great time!

Swimming in the lake with Daddy. This was the first time she swam in the lake independently in her life jacket. She loved it and was swimming like a fish in no time.

Our friends the Meyers' came over to shoot off fireworks at BeBe and BoBo's house on the 4th. Emily loved hanging out with Jack. Here they are watching TV together while waiting for it to get dark enough to shoot of fireworks. Every once in a while, Emily would run over to Jack's chair to talk to him then she would go back to her chair and watch the show. Super cute!

Emily's first time with sparklers. She thought they were really cool!

Fun Week

Emily and I had a fun week last week while Daddy was at work! We went to "pirate story time" at the library. All the stories and crafts were about pirates and Emily loves pirates so it was a big hit. She also sat up front with all of the kids by herself which was great. Of course, we went to Little Gym and Emily is doing great going into the gym by herself. We also went to the Magic House. They had a big beach area set up and it was a beautiful morning so we had lots of fun playing in the sand and looking for seashells. They had some nice seashells hidden in the sand and the kids could each take one home if they found one. Emily found a very pretty one!

Emily modeling the pirate hat she made at the library. Heartbeat is acting as her parrot. Every pirate needs a parrot!

Playing in the sand at the The Magic House's Sandcastle Beach.

Posing in front of the big sand sculpture at the entrance of the beach. I was just excited that i got her to pose for a picture!

Scanning her groceries at the Magic House Supermarket.

Emily snuck a bag of pretzels out of the cupboard and then chose to sit down in her baby doll stroller to eat them.

Summer Fun

Emily has had a busy, fun couple of weeks. She had lots of "grandma time" with both Grammy and BeBe which she loved. The weather has been pretty nice so she's been able to get out and ride her tricycle and play on the swings. I need to get some new photos of her riding her trike...she's getting really good at it! She has also gotten in lots of swimming and boat rides at the lake. She is really into the boat this summer and begs to go for boat rides.

Going on a golf cart ride with Daddy.

Last weekend our good friends the Meyer's were at the lake and we met up with them for dinner. The restaurant has a "beach" that leads into the lake where the kids can swim. This was the first time she swam with her life jacket on. It took her a few minutes to warm up but after a bit she was off swimming on her just like in the pool.

All the Meyer's came over to the pool on Sunday for some fun. Here she is checking out what Madison and Tim are up to.

Playing with friends for two straight days wears a girl out! She crawled up on the couch as we were packing up and fell asleep instantly. I'm not sure she moved a muscle for an hour until Daddy picked her up to carry her to the car.

Summer is Here!

Boy has summer come roaring into Missouri. It has been crazy hot. It is so hot, that we have been mostly hiding inside. The heat made for lots of good swimming time at the lake last weekend but other than that, it has led to many indoor activities. One of those was Littly Gym today. Emily went to her first class where she went in by herself while Mommy stayed outside and watched. She wasn't very happy about it at first but after we took a few minutes to regroup, she went in and by half way through the class, she was having fun and not missing Mommy a bit. We were very proud of her!

Daddy curled up with his girl Friday night...very cute!

Emily is a little fish. She loves swimming and is very independent. She just climbs in and takes off.

Playing fun games with Daddy. She'd make him swim underneath her, lift her up on his shoulders and then sink back down so she could swim off. Like I said, she loves swimming!

Show Day at Little Gym

Today was show day at Little Gym. It is the last day of the semester and the kids get to show off all that they have learned and then are awarded a medal at the end of class. Daddy went with us and had lots of fun. It was the last parent/child class for Emily and I. Starting next week, she gets to go to gym class all by herself. What a big girl!

It's Summer (unofficially)

Well, we have kicked off our summer season and went to the lake for Memorial Day weekend. The weather started out a little rought but Sunday was beautiful and Emily even got some swimming in. We came home early on Monday for a birthday party for Emily with all of her neighborhood friends. She had a blast!

Asleep Friday night. I thought it was just too cute how Heartbeat was peaking over her shoulder.

Swimming with Madison. The pool was still really cold but Emily didn't mind and thankfully neither did Madison who swam with her. Hopefully the pool has warmed up this week since this weekend is supposed to be extremely hot and we will need to cool off without too much of a shock.
