Happy Easter!

Well, the Easter Bunny was certainly very generous at our house today. It was sweet too, Emily was more interested in hunting easter eggs than her presents. I'm sure that will change soon so we will enjoy it while we can.

Emily checking out all her Easter loot.

Showing off the stickers that were in her Easter basket.

Hunting Easter eggs. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate and we had to have an inside hunt. Emily didn't mind a bit! She was super excited to run around and find where the Easter bunny had hid all the eggs. It was lots of fun!

Emily trying out the new bean bag chair Grammy brought her. She wasn't sure of it at first but is starting to get used to it now.

Chicago

Last weekend we went to Chicago to visit our good friends the Doyle's, including Emily's BFF Ruby. Daddy had been at a training class in Millwaukee so Emily and I picked him up at Chicago's Union Station on Thursday and then the Doyle's were nice enough to put us up for the weekend. Ruby and Emily LOVED playing with each other and were great together. There was no fighting or jealously just lots of girl play and giggles. They were super cute together and I know Emily is still talking about her visit. On our way home, we stopped and saw the Menotti's and super cute Nico. Emily and Nico played well together and at one point Emily was pushing Nico in his car. It was a great to catch up with everyone for a little while.
On Friday, we went to The Shedd Aquarium. Emily loves fish and was super excited by the aquarium. It was a really cool place and we saw lots of great things. I think Emily's favorites were the seahorses, jelly fish and sting rays.

This is Emily outside the dolphin tank (though you can't see the dolphins). We also saw a dolphin show which she loved. She thought it was really cool when they jumped out of the pool and made big splashes.
This was on the drive back from the aquarium. Checking out all those fish wears a girl out. I'm pretty sure she was asleep within five minutes of getting into the car.

On Saturday, we took the girls bowling. This was Emily's first time bowling and she had a great time. Here she is carrying her ball up to the lane.

Getting ready to roll her ball and knock down some pins.

Emily and Ruby discussing the features of Doyle's helicopter. Apparently all Daddies have helicopters so the girls had lots to talk about while playing with it.

Emily and Ruby working on a puzzle together. They really played well together!

Crazy Weather

So, we have had 40 degree swing in the temperatur from yesterday to today. Yesterday it was 90 and beautiful, today 50 and cloudy. St. Louis just can't make up its mind on wheter Spring has arrived or not. Emily is ready to play outside all the time (she asks multiple times a day if we can go outside) so hopefully the warm weather that is coming mid week will stick around!

Not much is new around here. Emily is super busy and talking up a storm. She still loves to "read" her own books and is enjoying American Idol and Dancing With the Stars. She gets very excited when the Idol judges come on and recognizes them in magazines or on other shows and tells us "there's American Idol!". Cameron's big MG rally is coming up this weekend so she helped him get the car ready on Sunday. She loves the MG!

Reading a book after getting her bangs trimmed. Aren't her pony tails cute? I wish she'd wear them more often but she usually demands that they be taken out.

Scooping ice cream at The Magic House's Spring party.

Testing out her plasma car that Grammy and Poppy got her for Christmas. She loves it even if she doesn't ride it quite like you are supposed to. She was driving all around the driveway pretending to go different places and "stopping" at stop lights. That is one of her new favorite things: when riding the car she likes to tell you what color the stop lights are and when they turn green, she tells you to go.

Going for a ride with Daddy in the MG. She LOVES riding in the MG. She could hardly wait for him to get done with his repairs so they could go out for a spin.

A Little Bit of Spring

We have had a nice little taste of spring here since this weekend. It has been so nice to get outside and play. Unfortunately, cold weather is heading back in starting tomorrow so we will have to wait patiently for more spring weather.

We have been busy as usual. Saturday, Daddy planned a surprise event for us and we ended up going to Emily's first circus. She really liked it and clapped for all the acts. After the circus, we headed down to the lake to take care of a few things before the season is upon us. Since we got back on Sunday, we have been playing outside as much as we can!

Here's Emily cheesing it up while eating the rest of her Cheerios on the cedar chest.

She slept in a real bed at the lake for the first time. She did really well with it and didn't wake up once. What a big girl!

Decked out in her spring attire having some water.

She told me she was putting on her "scarf" (really her blanket) so she could go "skating" (ice skating). I think this comes from the Berenstain Bear's Christmas book.

Happy St. Pat's Day!

We had a super fun weekend. On Saturday we went to a St. Patrick's Day parade with our good friends the Wicks. It was a beautiful day and we all had a great time. The kids had lots of fun getting beads and candy thrown from the floats. Despite missing her nap, Emily was raring to go when we got home and went on her first real ride in the MG. She LOVED it!

So, Saturday it was beautiful and 60 degrees and today it is snowing. That is St. Louis weather for you. It is supposed to be 70 on Thursday so I guess we will get a little bit of everything this week!

Emily tucked herself in on the couch along with Hoppy and Heartbeat. According to her they were all "cozy and warm".

Having a picnic snack before the St. Pat's parade.

Getting ready for the parade start with the Wicks. Emily loves playing with Ben and Sarah!
Getting ready to head out in the MG. It isn't often you see a car seat in an MG but it works. She LOVED her ride and Daddy was excited to have another MG buddy!

So-So Pictures

Well, I don't have very good pictures from the last several days but I'll post some anyway. We haven't been doing anything too new and exciting. Just our usual play and activities. We are still waiting for spring to arrive in full so we can get outside all the time. Luckily we have had a few warm days where we could get to the playground and play with sidewalk chalk.

At a puppet show. Emily was very interested and had a good time.

Carousel ride after the puppet show. Emily wasn't being very cooperative for photos.

Friday night we had several friends over for pizza. Here is Emily laying on her trampoline with her buddy Ainsley. They were watching Sponge Bob.

Playing games on Mommhy's iPod.

Warming Up!

Last week brought us some wonderful weather and we were able to get outside and play. It was so nice to have some warm weather! We had a very nice Valentine's Day too. Emily got lots of valentines this year... she loved her flowers from Poppy, singing guy from Grammy, balloons from BeBe and BoBo. She also got valentines from Mommy (a book and stickers) and Daddy (pillow pet) and I think her favorite was from her friend Sarah who walked up the street to drop off a little present. It was lots of fun!

Like father, like daughter... reading Powerboat on the couch.

Yay! We are playing outside! Emily was trying out all of her sidewalk chalk.

Relaxing in her chair, pointing out airplanes.

We went to a Valentine's Day party at the Magic House. Here is Emily serving up some "ice cream" in the children's village.

It was 75 and sunny on Wednesday so we took full advantage and went to the playground. Here is Emily in a tube thing that leads to a slide.
