Our Big Girl

We have been taking full advantage of the warmer weather (it was 70 yesterday!) and playing outside a lot. Emily's big achievement for the week is counting to five when we hold up our fingers one at a time. She is getting pretty good at it too but still messes up sometimes and calls every finger two. She is so smart if I do say so myself!

Last day of swim lessons. All of the kids from the different swim groups were playing under a fountain in the pool and Emily thought it was way cool.

Daddy and I turned around for a minute and the next thing we knew, Emily was sitting in one of our chairs. She then kicked us both out of the chairs so she could climb up in both of them.

Getting Outside

The weather finally warmed up over the weekend so we were able to get out and play. We all enjoyed getting outside in the fresh air.

Trying on a pair of Mommy's sunglasses

Emily was so excited about her cozy coupe, she jumped in before we had a chance to put it together.

Driving the almost finished product (the stickers and accessories were installed later...she wouldn't wait).

Here's the Latest

Not much is new around here but there are some recent pictures to share anyway:

Emily and Daddy having fun at swim lessons

Getting comfortable while watching Sesame Street

Playing with our friends' daughter Audrey. Emily was very sweet and gentle with her. It was very cute: Emily let Audrey pet her face, tried to hold her and give her blocks to play with. Very sweet!

Growing Up

Our little girl is growing up so fast! She is now putting her shoes on, has lots of new words and much to our chagrin is telling us to "stop it". Luckily there are also lots of hugs and kisses to go along with all of the "stop it" and "no" comments!

Wearing Mommy's shoes around the living room.

This is her nap after Grammy and Poppy left. Entertaining grandparents wore her out! She did not like waking up to the camera flash so this could be the last nap picture for a while.

Our Funny Valentine

Emily was spoiled rotten on Valentine's Day (big surprise)! Below are some pics of her big Valentine's Day.

We are very tired of this winter weather and ready for spring so we can get outside and play. In the meantime, we still have story time, Little Gym and swimming to keep us occupied.

Here she is with her flowers from Poppy.
She and her bear were both sniffing the pretty flowers.

The bear was originally hugging the flower vase but she demanded that it be taken off and given to her immediately.

Party Girl

We threw a big Super Bowl party this weekend and Emily had a blast. There were lots of other kids around so she got to run wild, eat lots of cheese ("eese") and crackers, and stay up late. Everyone seemed to have a good time but the kids seemed to have the most fun.

Umm, are you supposed to be in Mommy's wallet?

Ready for the Super Bowl. The Colts jersey didn't help Indy out much but she had on her Purdue shirt too for our man Drew Brees.

Activities Galore!

We've been trying to keep Emily busy, busy lately since we are stuck inside with all of this cold weather. We go to story time, swim lessons and Little Gym. She seems to like it a lot...especially playing with other kids.

Eating her snack before story time. For some reason she had to lay on the floor for snack time.

Blowing bubbles with Daddy at swim lessons. She loves the water and heads straight for the pool as soon as we get there.

Walking out of the pool after her swim lesson. She doesn't always want to be doing what the instructor says. Apparently she has other ideas about what she wants to do in the pool.

Daddy went with us to The Little Gym this week so we got some pictures. Here she is hanging from the bars (with a little help from Mommy).
